Title:Constraint on the bright end of quasar luminosity function at z~5 based on SDSS-WISE data
Topic:Discoveries
Abstract: During the past ten years, following with successful quasar surveys, many measurements for the high redshift quasar luminosity function(QLF) have made a great improvement of the accuracy of shape and evolution model of QLF at high redshift. But the bright end of QLF is still uncertain because there are just few known luminous high redshift quasar. Now we will report our recent new discovery which focus on the bright end of QLF at z~5. Our group are working on construction of a luminous quasar sample at z~5 based on SDSS-WISE color selection. Up to date, we get 63 new quasars at z>4.5. There are 45 quasars with a redshift range of 4.75. Using all M1450<-27.3 quasars we have got a preliminary QLF result which showed a strong constraint on the bright end slope. We will observe all our luminous quasar candidates and constrain the bright end slope and evolution model of high redshift QLF.
